While it was a difficult decision, Dr. Faizal Mohamed, Dr. Jennifer Yoon and the TCEC team had decided to close down their practice permanently. Dr. Mohamed and Dr. Yoon has entrusted our optometrists to continue providing for your eye care.

Downtown Vision is one of the oldest optometry clinics in Downtown Toronto and have served the financial district for well over 35 years, with our roots tracing back to Potter Opticians in the Victorian era.
We look forward to seeing you at Downtown Vision!

Our clinic, Downtown Vision is conveniently close by – just a 10 minutes walk away from the old location, and near Osgoode Subway Station. We also have a paid parking garage available, just off York St.
Do I need to contact you?
Our team is working hard on integrating your records to our system. If you wish to book an appointment, you can call the old number (416) 597-3937 to reach us or book appointment via online form. We will also contact you with a recall reminder when you are due for a visit.
I need to reorder my contact lenses or glasses.
We’d be happy to help you with any ordering for any valid prescriptions. For contact lens refill requests, you can call us at (416) 597-3937 as before, or try our online ordering site.
Why do you have access to my file?
When an optometrist retires or closes a clinic, patient’s access to their medical record must be maintained. According to regulations, they must appoint and transfer their patient files to the care of a health information custodian, which is usually another licensed optometrist. In this case, the optometrists at TCEC had appointed the optometrists at Downtown Vision to be their custodian. This announcement was posted online and sent via email to their patients during the week of May 12, 2025.
While patients are encouraged to continue care at Downtown Vision, they have a choice to seek care with another optometrist should they wish to. Please note there is a nominal fee of $25 to cover the administrative costs, should you wish to transfer elsewhere. Our team has invested significant time and resources to ensure integration and safekeeping of your file to our system.
